THIS Is Why Putting Essential Oils On The Bottom of Your FEET Works Wonders

If you’re like most nature lovers, chances are you have at least one bottle of essential oil lying around your house. And while essential oils are best known for their role in aromatherapy, it’s important to note that their benefits go way beyond their pleasant smell.
In fact, reflexologists even recommend using certain oils under your feet to help you get a good night’s sleep.
Here’s how it works.
How Your Feet Absorb Oils?
The soles of your feet have five layers of skin and no hair follicles.
The pores found in this area are particularly absorbent and can quickly pull the essential oil into the bloodstream. When applied to the entire foot, traces of essential oil can be found throughout the body in less than 20 minutes.
This is because your soles and palms are the only sites on your body without sebaceous glands.
Sebum, which is produced by sebaceous glands all over the skin, is an oily substance that functions as a protective shield and weakens the skin’s ability to absorb foreign materials.
Because the palms of your hands and soles of your feet do not have sebaceous glands, these areas have no barrier between the essential oils and your pores.

Your feet have around 72,000 nerve endings each. In fact, they contain more sensitive nerve endings per square centimeter than any other part of your body.
That’s why, for centuries, East Asian medicine has treated various illnesses and symptoms by simply accessing the right nerves with the feet.
They believed that every organ and system in your body is connected through meridians of energy that end in your feet, hands, ears and face. This healing tradition is referred to as reflexology.
According to reflexology, applying essential oil to your feet allows the oil’s benefits to reach multiple organs and systems and bring about full-body healing.
Other advantages
Some essential oils are considered too concentrated for most parts of the body, and it’s recommended to dilute them with water or coconut oil before applying to the skin. This is done to reduce the possibility of irritation or swelling.
Fortunately, the skin on your feet is one of the least sensitive areas throughout your body, so oils of all strengths can be safely applied directly to your soles
Also, since you’re applying the oil topically and not ingesting it, the active compounds go straight into your bloodstream instead of going through the lengthy digestive process and making your liver do the work.
If you’re curious about giving it a try, talk to your naturopath to find what oils can help you heal.

Nice idea, but it appears to be wrong. The stratum corneum is said to be the main barrier against diffusion of compounds through the skin. The stratum corneum of hands and feet is MUCH thicker than other parts of the body: palms and soles are 400-600 μM whereas arms, back, legs, and abdomen is much thinner (8-15 μM).

As a reflexologist in clinical aromatherapist this video is full of BS! Whoever put this video together needs to go take a high school biology class. While your feet do not have as many sebaceous glands as skin on other parts your body they still have them! they also have more sweat glands than most other parts your body and if you didn’t know that those glands are one way, out of the body not in! they do not of absorb anything. While essential oils apply to any skin in the body will be detected overtime in the bloodstream because the thickness of the skin on the feet it takes the longest and the least are absorbed . Like I said whoever put this video together need to take a basic biology class

Essential oils sold today are NOT natural. They are derived from a natural source, but not sold in the natural form nature gave us. If you want natural you will have to make it yourself. Skip distilling because it produces ridiculous concentrates nature never gave us. Essential oils today are modern corporate concoctions of highly concentrated plant derived solvents.

I am a licensed massage therapist. I have had both schools of thought. do Not apply any thing ever to the bottom of your feet. The feet are a primary source to get rid of toxins. The Reflexology teacher whom I trust taught that. He was absolutely without a doubt correct
Whatever we absorb is important. The skin is responsible to cleanse the lymph cannot expel toxins as easily when it is clogged up. What ever you put on the skin moisture or whatever else. Make SURE you remove it. After a suitable time to allow skin moisture. Let the skin breathe. Clean and purified water is the best way for the skin to be radiant. Whatever….you put on the skin Remove it. I don’t believe in makeup cheaply made is beauty either. Essential oils are extremely beneficial. They help in abundant ways especially the olfactory sense. Which. Originates in the brain. Not….on the feet. Dorsal side? Definitely not on the plantar side. Take it how you will and do your own research. If you are wise you will Consider what I have said.

Slapping the word "essential" does not mean that it actually works. The oils are literally nothing short of placebos. Basically what I’m pointing out is that the idea of selling oils is a pyramid scheme. It’s a scam.

  17. Babs Champagne on April 13, 2021 at 1:52 am

What a lot of crap. Absolutely no scientific proof on any if this idiotic claims that ‘smearing shit on your foot so it can go directly to your blood’. But looking at comments there is a lot of stupid people believeing anything they see on the internet. Another essential oil bullshit to scam idiots.

  18. robert olson on April 13, 2021 at 1:56 am

If essential oils were intended to be in our bloodstream, nature would have put them there. Geez, I wonder why nature didn’t? Could it be because nature is smarter than us? Could it be nature doesn’t have a financial interest? Its really all about money. Not health.

If you chop onions and put them on the bottom of the foot covered by a sock when you go to sleep the onion will clean your blood because onions observe all the bacteria so if you leave a 1/2 onion out don’t eat it later because it can make you sick

What about the oils going to your blood stream, and ☝️ colesterol or triglycerides. Please clarify. For sure I don’t need this.

    Oil name?

  39. L North on April 13, 2021 at 2:34 am

As a licensed aromatherapist I can tell you for sure this is not true. The oil on your skin acts as a bridge to allow oils through, not a barrier. Further, the quickest way to end up with chemical burns is to dilute essential oils with water. The information in this video is just wrong. If you are really interested in essential oils and how to use them safely, look up Tisserand, the father of aromatherapy. His safety information is current and based on science, not driven by ideas straight out of multi-level marketing ploys to drive profits.
