Our goal is to make easy to follow Aromatherapy videos; We want to answer all your questions so you know just why you need essential oils, and which oils are used for what.

So what is Aromatherapy anyways?

Aromatherapy is just using essential oils to enhance your physical, mental and emotional well-being.

What’s an Aromatherapist, and what do they do?

An Aromatherapist is someone who is certified to practice Aromatherapy. Certifications differ from country to country, but in every case an Aromatherapist is required to complete his or her training through an accredited school (or institute). We’re legit!

What are essential oils?
The short answer is that essential oils come from plants.

Plants create essential oils naturally and store them in tiny molecular sacs. There are tons of reasons for this, like attracting bees or other pollinating insects or repelling pests. They’re useful!

Each type of plant stores essential oils in different places, too. Flowering plants may store oils close to the center of their petals to attract bees, but some plants store them in the roots or the bark. Citrus plants like oranges, lemons, and limes, often store their essential oils in the rinds of their fruit.

How can essential oils help you?
Well, essential oils are an all-natural way to help with common symptoms and everyday concerns, as well as help balance your whole being.

Lots of people ask if essential oils are medicine. They’re not medicine, or even intended to replace medicine. Essential oils are not an alternative medicine! Essential oils are complementary and should be used as such.

So how can essential oils help?
The benefits of essential oils are huge! Essential oils can help with regulating your immune system, helping to regulate emotions, support your respiratory system, ease nervous tension, boost your energy levels, even help you relax and sleep soundly, and so much more.

Essential oils CAN and do help. But we always tell people: Remember that everyone is different! Sometimes it takes some experimenting to figure out exactly which essential oils and synergies work best for your body and lifestyle.

How to use essential oils and what are the most common essential oil uses?

If you’re new to essential oil use, you’re probably wondering which ones to buy first. Well, some of the most popular essential oils have tons of different uses.

Lavender helps promote sleep, relaxation, and encourages a peaceful, calm mindset. It can also help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, scarring, help with the pain associated with sunburns and bee stings, oh and it also makes you smell amazing!

Lemon essential oil is uplifting, and also helps support your immune health, plus makes a great cleaning agent! If you’ve ever heated lemon juice to clean your microwave, you’ve already used the power of lemon as a cleaner!

Eucalyptus is great for helping with congestion and respiratory health. It also helps ease discomfort from aches in your muscles and joints associated with aging. Plus it stimulates mental focus!

Tea Tree oil helps remove odors, works great as a personal deodorant, and has been used for years to help treat problem skin. And like lemon, tea tree oil also makes a great cleaning agent.

Peppermint energizes and invigorates, helps with nausea, head tension, stimulates mental focus and is cooling to the skin. Does peppermint make anyone else think of Christmastime? Because I sure do!

Essential oil safety.
First, when applied topically, or to the skin, essential oils should always be diluted in a carrier oil, body product like lotions or creams, or aloe jelly. And you should always check your bottle of oil or blend for specific dilution recommendation!

You should also only diffuse to 20-60 minutes at a time. If you want to diffuse all day (or all night) diffuse for 30 minutes on, 30 minutes off instead of keeping it on all the time.

On kiddos under ten, you only want to use KidSafe oils and blends. Always keep your bottles tightly capped and out of reach as well. Even though essential oils are natural, you really don’t want your toddler dumping it on the carpet!

Hydrocarbons are the main component to crude oil. Hydrocarbons are also a big component in essential oils. Few are aware of this common link. However exposure to essential oils does not bear the same risks as exposure to petroleum distillates.

But EO’s are aeromatic hydrocabons from distilled plants. This produces a highly concentrated aeromatic hydrocarbon solvent. Peppermint oil can be highly flammable like gasoline. Even if EO’s are pure and not made with solvents, the EO’s are of themselves high VOC solvents. This takes people by surprise.

Learning essential oil chemistry you will gain an understanding that helps with essential oil safety, such as not allowing an open bottle of peppermint oil near a candle flame. Understanding the risks to anything will lead to safer use.

It’s amazing to me that Plant Therapy is an industry leading company and yet doesn’t have a single diffuser available on their website… Is this due to shipping complications with this stupid Covid 19 virus? It just feels strange when getting into this I feel like I’m more serious about buying than a leading company is about selling…
